Spray paint art – My history:

I am originally from Mexico City while being resident in Europe presently. I was 10 years old when I saw a spray paint artist called Sadot painting in the touristic area of my city. He who was also from my city. He made art on various subjects ranging from the Stonehenge, the pyramids, abstracts to the beautify and rich Cosmos. I spent hours watching him and something inside me connected strongly to what he was doing and what he was creating. I instantly fell in love with spray paint art and specifically about making cosmic art. From that moment I felt I had to do this.

Where spray paint art took me?

10 years later when I was 20 years old, I started spray painting professionally. Since then I could not stop. I painted in Mexico, USA, Canada, Anchorage and since 2000, Majorca Spain, Italy and all of Europe. I specially go to the Nordic countries such as Denmark, Oslo, Sweden and Finland. I also toured Germany, Austria, France and Belgium. I painted in art festivals in USA and many festivals in Europe. People requested me to paint doors, ceilings, motorcycles, cars, refrigerator doors, skateboards, leather boots and many other things. I enhanced my skills and found new techniques while doing such works.

A bit about my personal life:

I never did graffiti on the wall. I never painted without an altruistic or artistic motivation or pay. You will be surprised to know that I went to university and studied business administration without intention of completing it for the sake of completing. My intention was to experience what happens to the human mind due to our existing university education system. I needed this experience to understand how the system works. I also have a technical background of fusing metals and making technical 3D models.

My art exploration:

I learned about landscapes for my art and gained perspective about art. I read about the many techniques involved. In the past I read many books about the theory of colours, how to mix colours to produce what I want and put many hours into reading books to gain a theoretical knowledge about art and related subjects. I had no formal art training. Art just spoke through me all my life. I taught myself everything that I needed to produce my art.

Purpose of my art:

The purpose behind my art specially the ones depicting the cosmos are twofold:

  1. To make everyone remember the human being and where we are coming from. In the philosophy of my origins it is said we are all made up of star dust. We are from the Cosmos, in the Cosmos and for me it is very important to recreate such scenes in my works to remind us about this fact. My art projects the beauty and harmony of the cosmos on the wall. We are made of star stuff was famously quoted by Carl Sagan? It is important to remember the beauty and harmony in our origin – the Cosmos

I tend to focus on harmony and beauty and not subjects such as wars and disharmony which is what we are exposed to daily in the media.

  1. Positively affect the development and evolution of Human consciousness by looking at our cosmic home as seen in my art. It is not good to always keep our vision looking at the city, cars and busy life. Looking at my work achieves this positive impact on the person by taking the attention to the bigger picture which allows the human mind to expand to newer heights in order to explore deeper questions about us by remind them about our cosmic origins. The five senses constantly feed our minds. Among the five, our sight is a very important and influential factor and when my art is seen at homes daily, it helps connect people to this bigger aspect.

Expectations of my art: Spray paint art tutorials and a school

I have developed higher intricate spray paint art techniques in my 32 years of spray painting. It allowed me to pioneer many advanced techniques to improve the quality and variety of my art. When I paint for long stretches, I can paint between 15-30 paintings a day if I focus and allow the art to flow through me.

Multiply this by 32 years and you will understand how many paintings went through my hands in order to develop these techniques. When I first saw this technique, I knew that it can be enhanced to a newer level and now after 32 years of experimenting with it, I have a chance to pass on my skills.

Therefore, it is very important for me now to teach the technique and its meaning to the next generation of future spray paint artists. I want to teach them to paint the cosmos in a harmonious way. Human nature must connect more with this peace and harmony found in my paintings.

So, teaching and helping humanity to evolve its consciousness by looking at my work is what ultimately drives me and what I expect from my art. I want to keep helping humanity remember where we come from and enjoy the creative beauty in the colours and infinity of the cosmos. This is very important to me.

Therefore, after all these years, I often paint outside as I feel the energy and emotions of the crowd which they feel by connecting to the image that is happening through me. There is something in me that paints through me and I enjoy this feeling and moment. It is hard to explain but I really enjoy when this creative force works through me. The people see for hours and they often want to buy all the works but naturally it is not possible to afford. So, they choose the ones that they connect with the best. It is hard for them to choose.

I see a great opportunity for young people in learning how to express their creativity through spray paint art, something with purpose and meaning. Hence, I want to open a school and keep developing the techniques.
